Adult Hearing Test
Hearing loss is defined as the inability to partially or completely hear sounds in one or both the ears.
Hearing loss can be caused due to various factors like age, hereditary factors, exposure to loud noise, middle ear pathologies, trauma or accidents and also can be associated with other health issues. However, in few cases the cause is unknown. Hearing loss can be congenital (from birth) or acquired.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy (OT) treatment focuses on helping people with a physical, sensory, or cognitive disability be as independent as possible in all areas of their lives. OT can help kids with various needs improve their cognitive, physical, sensory, and motor skills and enhance their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.
Tinnitus Assessment & Management
“Tinnitus is the perception of sound when no actual external sound is present”.
– American Tinnitus Association
“The sensation of sound without external stimulation”.
–ANSI- American National Standard Institute
Over the years, many methods of tinnitus treatment have been introduced, but very few survived the test of time. More than a decade has passed since the introduction of the neurophysiological model of Tinnitus and Tinnitus Retraining Therapy(TRT). TRT is used successfully now in more than 20 countries.
TRT reflects the practical implementation of the neurophysiological models of Tinnitus. It is a method aimed primarily at habituating tinnitus – evoked reactions of the brain and body, and secondarily at habituation of Tinnitus perception. Successful TRT patients are not bothered by their tinnitus, even though they are aware of it.
The two main components of TRT are:
(1) Educational Counselling
(2) Sound Therapy
Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy
VESTIBULAR CONDITIONS COMMONLY TREATED WITH VRT INCLUDE:
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
Acute / Chronic Unilateral Vestibular Hypofunction
Bilateral Vestibular Hypofunction

Acoustic Neuroma Surgery

Sensory Integration Therapy
Sensory integration (SI) therapy should be provided by a specially trained occupational therapist (OT). The OT determines through a thorough evaluation whether your child would benefit from SI therapy. In traditional SI therapy, the OT exposes a child to sensory stimulation through repetitive activities
Hearing Protection
Exposure to noise more than 80dB can cause permanent hearing loss. Examples for loud noises that can damage our natural hearing capacity are traffic noise at a busy junction, industrial noise, machinery noise, loud music at pubs, live concerts etc.
Short term exposure to loud noise can also cause a temporary change in hearing (your ears may feel stuffed up) or a ringing in your ears (tinnitus). These short-term problems may go away within a few minutes or hours after leaving the noisy area. However, repeated exposures to loud noise can lead to permanent tinnitus and/or hearing loss

They’ll also work with people who have eating and swallowing problems.
Applied Behavior Analysis
Behavior analysis focuses on the principles that explain how learning takes place. Positive reinforcement is one such principle. When a behavior is followed by some sort of reward, the behavior is more likely to be repeated. Through decades of research, the field of behavior analysis has developed many techniques for increasing useful behaviors and reducing those that may cause harm or interfere with learning.
Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is the use of these techniques and principles to bring about meaningful and positive change in behavior.
These techniques can be used in structured situations such as a classroom lesson as well as in “everyday” situations such as family dinnertime or the neighborhood playground. Some ABA therapy sessions involve one-on-one interaction between the behavior analyst and the participant. Group instruction can likewise prove useful.
Auditory Verbal Therapy
Auditory Verbal therapy is a highly specialist early intervention program which equips parents with the skills to maximize their deaf child’s speech and language development.
The Auditory Verbal approach stimulates auditory brain development and enables deaf children with hearing aids and cochlear implants to make sense of the sound relayed by their devices.
As a result, children with hearing loss are better able to develop listening and spoken language skills, with the aim of giving them the same opportunities and an equal start in life as hearing children.
Auditory Verbal therapy enables parents to help their child to make the best possible use of his or her hearing technology.
